Claude's invention theory is based on the fact that neon lights, unlike traditional electric light bulbs, are thin tubes that can be wound into fonts or complex graphics at will. The unique lighting effect of neon lamp can be produced by using the principle of "gas discharge". Gas is usually not easy to conduct current and is a good insulator. However, as long as the gas is depressurized and connected with a higher voltage, the gas can conduct electricity. A neon lamp is a glass tube filled with neon. When current is applied to both ends, it emits light. The electrons in the current move from one end to the other, hitting the neon atom along the way, knocking the electrons of the neon atom out of the orbit.
