How To Make An LED Marquee Letter
If you are curious about how to make LED subtitles, maybe you can look at this article and even do it hand-in-hand.
Materials needed:
Lighted Letter of your choice, hot glue gun, glue (some form of scrap bookers glue works best),decorative paper of your choice, tape, exacto knife, spray paint and matte finish spray paint,2 AA batteries.
Step 1: Take the letter out of its packaging, then wipe off any dust or grime using a moist cloth. A better, more equal coating of spray paint may be applied by wiping the surface. Step 2: Bend the metal tabs upward to remove the letter's black back. The string of lights and battery pack are fastened to the rear. The lights should then be carefully removed by being pulled out of the plastic bulb covers. Note the light fixture that is right behind the battery pack. The peg on this bulb is smaller than the others'. Although it is also hot-bonded into place, this light is simple to take out and reinstall. Place aside.
Step 3: This next step may be more challenging. The plastic bulbs need to be removed. The easiest way to do this is by pinching the pegs from behind while slightly moving from side to side. It may take a couple times but they should pop right out. If not, you can persuade it by firmly hitting the clip side of it with the handle of a screwdriver.
Step 4 (optional): Now that your letter is prepared, spray paint it. Wear clothing that can get destroyed, and spray paint in an area that is adequately ventilated. To try to protect your fingernails, you can also put on a pair of disposable rubber gloves. One coat at a time, and give it time to dry between applications. Make sure to cover every crevice and nook when applying. Put on two coats of paint for the finest effects. Apply the spray-on matte finish after the spray paint has dried to shield your letter from dust and preserve the color's appearance.
Step 5: The moment has come to write your paper. Locate the letter's black back and attach it to your paper, ornamental side up. You'll use this as your stencil. Next, carefully trace and cut out the letter's outline using an exacto knife.
Step 6: You are now ready to attach the traced paper to the front of your letter. Apply scrapbooking glue to the metal letter's edges using a brush. Apply in tiny spots, then cover with paper. Make sure the glue doesn't seep through by testing it on a few of the cut-out pieces of paper.
Step 7: Allow the adhesive to cure for a while. To re-insert the paper into the plastic light bulb casings, you will now need to gently cut the holes with your exacto knife. The bulbs will cover up any ragged edges, so don't bother making the holes perfectly round. You can reinstall the plastic casings when all the holes have been cut. Don't forget to put the smaller case under the battery pack.
Step 8: Restoring the strings to their cases will be your final task. The light that is located next to the battery pack requires the use of a hot glue gun. Push the metal tabs back down and attach the black backing to the back of your letter. Install the batteries, turn out the lights, and have pleasure!
